Prespa is a small lakeside region in the heart of the Balkans, nestled amongst high mountains and shared by three countries.
An undiscovered gem
Shared by three countries - Albania, Greece and fYR* of Macedonia - its location hosts an unusual climate for this part of Europe.
The lakes are 850 metres above sea level, surrounded by mountains, and lie where the Mediterranean zone meets the central European. This climate and isolated location have contributed to a mini Galapagos for European wildlife; home to rare species of global importance and breathtaking national parks... which are empty of tourists.
